The Artist

Tori started to paint using polka dots and nets as motifs at around age ten and created fantastic paintings in watercolors and pastels. Tori would draw manga art after school for years until high school, where she won multiple Texas art shows. After serving several years in Iraq and Afghanistan Tori decided to use art as a form of therapy to cope with PTSD, anxiety and the everyday struggles of life.

Months, sometimes years of work are put into her paintings. Despite the formal rigor of her practice, Tori is not striving for perfection-rather, influenced by Taoist and other eastern philosophies, she feels her art is a reflection of the patterns of nature. If you look closely each of her pieces hold some sort of secret, much like the universe we live in. There are different signs and healing symbols encrypted throughout. Behind each canvas, paint and stroke there is meaning, feelings and energy.

In 2016 Tori returned to college to further study Fine Art, specifically acrylic painting. In 2017 she studied Classical Oil painting techniques from master artist Polly Liu, and MFA from the Dominican Fine Art Institute in Florence, Italy and University of St Thomas, Florence, Italy.

Tori continued her fine art studies with international artist Lucinda Cobley, learning and perfecting textures and drawing techniques.

Today Tori's art has been featured in multiple art galleries in Houston, Tx, Miami, FL and held in private collections throughout the world.
